New York DocuWeeks Screenings of Dying to do Letterman

Start Spreading The News…

…I’m leaving Wednesday.

In case you didn’t recognize that song (it was paraphrased) it’s New York, New York. And I am so excited because we will be heading there this week for Docuweeks! That’s right. Our film will be showing in Manhattan. And as the song goes, “If I can make it there, I can make it anywhere.”

Honestly, I’m confident “Dying to do Letterman” is going to do well there. It’s a about a New York institution: David Letterman. Plus we’ve done well at a variety of places across the country. The Silicon Valley (San Jose/Cinequest), the heartland (Cleveland &Chicago), and even the Northeast (Maine and New Jersey).

But now it’s off to the city that never sleeps, and I can’t wait to take a bite out of the Big Apple. We have two showings a day for a whole week at the IFC Center. I’d love to say having our film play in NYC is a dream come true, but honestly I didn’t even consider it. The documentary has really taken off and it’s been an incredible ride because I’m surprised at every turn.

All these surprises are due to YOU– our fans and audiences. I could never have wished or dreamt of the amazing reactions people like yoyu are having to the film. And your reactions have lead to award after award and now entrance into DocuWeeks and this showing in NYC. What a ride. I don’t even have the guts to imagine what’s next. But I’m sure the film and fans will keep surprising us. Thanks and buckle up–SM

PS — If you know anyone in NYC area please tell the to check out the film or pass the word on as well: http://www.ifccenter.com/films/dying-to-do-letterman/
