YET (one year in)

Well, It's been a year since I started this project,
and I haven't been on Letterman. YET! One little word
with three little letters, and a lot of power. YET.
Although, I didn't reach my goal of making it in a
year, I have made some significant progress. Maybe more
than I should have realistically expected.
First of all, I am alive!!! Some people have come across the site and since there has been little BLOG activity, assumed I died. Nope. Just super busy on the actual work of making my dream come true. Dreams don't allow for a lot of time to blog about them. The point is I'm alive and kicking. Thanks to those of you who asked. Ha! Ha!
Well, The Letterman people know about the project. They found out from people like you who have visited the site and dropped Dave and the show an e-mail. It's amazing, because after my friend Lee and I put this site up, we never got around to marketing it. No mass e-mails. No TV/Radio blitz. Nothing. Just people stumbling upon it and telling others. Amazing. And a wide array of people have lent their help. People I lost touch with, people who I never met, Comedy Icons, people who hate stand-up, and everyone in between. It's incredibly humbling.
So the Letterman people know about it and their booker is looking at some of my stuff. BUT please DO NOT stop spreading the word. I'm convinced the reason that they are even paying attention to this whole thing, is the weight of the people contacting them and saying "Book Mazan." If the groundswell stops, I'm sure the attention will too. The show wants to book guests that the audience wants to see--so please keep telling them.
Health-wise I am doing well. I feel great, and am confident I'm gonna beat this somehow. No cure yet. YET. But I'll be here when there is. I have some scans coming up this month so besides e-mails send me some good vibes if ya can spare them.
I should probably be a bit disappointed that I didn't make my year goal. But I know that no matter what happens with Letterman or my health, I spent this past year living more than I ever have. Simply by chasing my dream all out. It hasn't been easy. In fact, it was my toughest year as well. Lots of crying, yelling, and frustration mixed with laughter and lot of inspiration. And I wouldn't have it any other way. If it were easy, we wouldn't call them dreams.
Thanks for all your help thus far and down the road.
Best for 07,
Steve
Now go tell anyone who hasn't heard about this YET!

This is it! My first blog entry for this project. It's
gonna be short, because at this point the website
itself should explain everything up to this point.
Right now we are getting funding together for the movie. If you or anyone you know is interested in being a part of this let us know.
And check back in the next few weeks to hear about how all that is progressing. And please tell others.
Thanks for your interest,
Steve
